@RULakersWSOC Falls To Bethel (Ind.)

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Roosevelt women's soccer team had its share of chances against visiting Bethel (Ind.) at Toyota Park on Saturday, but the Lakers couldn't light the scoreboard and overcome the Pilots' three-goal first-half in a 3-0 loss.

Kara Jones made four saves, including a stop on a penalty kick in the second half, and held the Pilots scoreless in the game's final 45 minutes for Roosevelt (0-3-0).

The Pilots (1-3-0) scored goals in the 7th, 37th and 45th minutes to stun the hosts, but the Lakers came into the second half firing and outshot Bethel 16-4 in the final period.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, a 25-13 shot advantage for the game didn't translate into any goals despite quality looks that went just wide or keeper Julina Skow (nine saves) stopped.

Roosevelt heads to the Siena Heights Classic next weekend, facing host and 16th-ranked Siena Heights (Mich.) and Madonna (Mich.) on back-to-back days.
