BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Roosevelt women's soccer team played visiting Trinity Christian (Ill.) to a competitive stalemate for 52 minutes until the Trolls scored four consecutive goals, including three within a three-minute span in the early stages of the second half, as the Lakers suffered a 4-1 loss at Toyota Park on Saturday.
Chelsea Olson scored her third goal of the year in the 77th minute on a ball from Anna Agboola for the latter's 12th point of the season, but it was not nearly enough for the Lakers (1-7-0, 1-2-0 CCAC) to rally back.
The two sides played a very even match throughout a scoreless first half and the first seven-plus minutes of the second period.
The Trolls (4-3-2, 1-1-1 CCAC) broke through when Jessica Bianchi scored after quickly gathering a far cross, and less than a minute later it was Kayla Diemer getting the ball past Kara Jones for a quick turn from draw to a 2-0 lead.
Bianchi scored again a minute after Trinity Christian's second goal on a breakaway up the middle of the box, and the Trolls received another goal from Diemer running the right side and getting a shot past Jones in the 68th minute, stunning the Lakers after what had been an equal match for more than half the time.
Roosevelt plays at Calumet St. Joseph on Sept. 28.
