BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Carlos Alcantar won his singles match as the Roosevelt men's tennis team fell to 21st-ranked Olivet Nazarene, 8-1, on Wednesday.
Alcantar won at No. 5 singles, while Josh Moller had a close battle at the sixth spot.
"Olivet's men's team is definitely the frontrunner in our conference this year and they showed it today," said Roosevelt head coach Lucian Tabic. "In tough, outdoor conditions they kept their composure and performed.
"We fell behind in the match early and just couldn't overcome that," Tabic continued. "These days happen. You learn from the experience and move on."
Tabic has his team focused on finishing the final weekend of regular-season play strong before the CCAC tournament.
"Two very important matches are coming up against Aurora University and Judson University to close out the season," Tabic said. "I know the guys are excited about closing on a positive note."
