Softball Wins Two 11-2 Affairs At Robert Morris

BENSENVILLE, Ill. – The result of Monday's first game against Robert Morris was so good for the Roosevelt softball team, it had to be replicated.

That's just what the Lakers did in the nightcap, as the Green and White registered back-to-back 11-2 six-inning victories over the neighborly CCAC rival Eagles in a makeup doubleheader at Liberty Field.

Roosevelt has now won four in a row and improved to 10-20 with a 4-10 CCAC mark, while Robert Morris dropped to 7-24 and 1-11 in conference action.

Bethany Hart went 4-for-4 with three RBI during an opener in which the Lakers broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth that was followed by two consecutive three-run frames.

Kelly Crowley and Alexis Funk had two-run hits in the decisive fourth to support Morgan Vogt's six innings of one-run pitching.

Amanda Ferguson and Sam Kusta had 3-for-4 outings at the dish in the second game, and Roosevelt took advantage of four Eagle errors in the second to score five times.

Katie Neubauer followed up her complete-game shutout against Purdue North Central on Saturday with six innings of two-run ball in the finale against RMU.

Roosevelt hosts St. Francis in a twinbill at The Ballpark at Rosemont on Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.
