BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – Jamie Beniac scored her fifth goal of the season in the second half of Tuesday's game against Trinity International, but the Roosevelt women's soccer team couldn't rally back against the Trojans in a 5-1 loss at Toyota Park.
Roosevelt (5-8-0, 2-6-0 CCAC) created chances throughout, keeping pace with the Trojans (6-4-2, 4-2-1 CCAC) and only getting outshot by five.
Unfortunately for the Lakers, Trinity International took advantage of defensive missteps and lucky bounces, with a few 1v1 chances and a couple of rebound shots that led to five consecutive goals by the guests.
Morgan Elzinga paced the Trojans with a hat trick, scoring the first, third and fifth goals.
Beniac scored off a nice ball from Carli Schlaker to get a clean running look at the goal face and convert in the 60th minute to get the Lakers on the board.
Roosevelt couldn't produce another late tally to get back into the contest.
The Lakers hit the road to face Purdue Calumet on Saturday.
