BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - Carli Schlaker scored the tying and winning goals deep into the second half, and the Roosevelt women's soccer team rallied back from two deficits to defeat visiting Goshen, 3-2, at Toyota Park on Saturday.
Delaney Barrett also scored for the Lakers (3-3-0), who won for the second straight match.
The Maple Leafs (5-2-0) struck first on a Christner-to-Christner connection, as Dana Christner scored on a ball from Alisha Christner in the 13th minute that created a one-on-one with keeper Sydney Hebel that transpired in the hosts' favor.
Barrett knotted the match just before intermission, scoring on a free kick just outside the penalty box in the 41st minute.
Goshen reclaimed the lead less than five minutes into the second half. Katelyn Vendrely rifled a ball over Hebel's head and off the netminder's hands for a 2-1 guest advantage.
About 15 minutes after Goshen scored its second goal is when the Schlaker Show started for Roosevelt. The hosts were awarded a penalty kick, and the sophomore striker took the honors for the Green and White to even the match in the 65th minute.
In the 76th minute, Mika Reid passed a ball off to Liana Imbrogno, and Imbrogno sent in a cross that eventually found Schlaker's noggin and allowed the latter to head in the golden goal.
Roosevelt travels to Milwaukee to face off against Cardinal Stritch on Sept. 25.
