Women's Soccer Drops Home Finale To Saint Xavier, 4-1

Bridgeview, Ill. – The Roosevelt women's soccer team concluded its 2012 home schedule with a 4-1 loss to Saint Xavier on Saturday morning at Toyota Park.

Freshman Carli Schlaker highlighted the effort for the Lakers (2-11-1, 0-8-1) with her first career goal. The Oswego East High School product found the back of the net in the 90th minute when she took a pass from freshman Samantha Anderson and curled the ball over the head of the keeper and into the goal from 23 yards out.

Saint Xavier (10-5-1, 6-3-0) enjoyed a 1-0 lead at halftime, following a Morgan Graves goal in the 41st minute. The Cougars added another tally in the opening moments of the second half, before adding two more goals to cushion their advantage later in the period.

Roosevelt will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Cardinal Stritch.
