BAY CITY, Mich. – Roosevelt third baseman Alejandro Munoz and shortstop Quinn O'Bryan were both named All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention honorees Thursday by the league.
The pair were the only two Lakers who start and play in all 49 games this season and were key catalysts for the Roosevelt offense. Munoz led the team with a .320 batting average and 33 RBI and finished with a .405 on-base percentage. The junior from Evergreen Park led the team with 56 hits and was one of two players with multiple triples.
O'Bryan hit .284 with a team-best 12 doubles and ranked third on the team with 48 total hits. In conference play, the sophomore excelled with a .370 batting average and .452 slugging percentage to go along with his .420 on-base percentage. The Dyer, Ind. native struck out just four times in 81 plate appearances and scored a team-best 14 runs in league contests.
