MIDLAND, Mich. – Roosevelt's women's tennis team closed out its season Saturday with a 6-1 setback against Saginaw Valley State in Michigan.
The Lakers began at doubles by splitting a pair of 6-1 decisions at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions. Nathalie Ramazzini and Luciana Trigosso teamed up for an easy win at No. 3 doubles to put the pressure on the top doubles pairing. However, the Cardinals eked out a 6-4 win to claim the doubles point.
Ramazzini ended up securing the only point of the match for Roosevelt with a thrilling three-set win at the No. 5 flight. She won with ease 6-2 in the opening set before being edged out 7-5 in the second set. In the supertiebreaker, Ramazzini held on for an 11-9 win to take the point.
