HILLSDALE, Mich. – Roosevelt's tennis teams both fell 6-1 to Hillsdale on Sunday in a non-conference duel in Michigan.

The women were neck-and-neck with the Chargers with Sophie Christie and Zeynep Barut teaming up to win at No. 2 doubles. A tough 7-5 loss at the third doubles spot gave Hillsdale the doubles point, but the match was far from over. All three of the top singles matches went to three sets with No. 1 and No. 3 singles lasting more than two hours.

Luciana Trigosso was able to rebound from dropping the first set 6-0 to win the final two sets 7-6 and 6-1 to claim Roosevelt's only point. Christie won the first set then lost the second set in a tiebreaker while Barut won the second set with a late break before falling in her third set.

The Lakers had a chance to take the doubles point on the men's side after Chakib Madcur and Lluc Mascaro Sierra won their doubles match 6-3 at the No. 3 spot. Demille Scarabello and Abhay Singh forced a tiebreak at No. 2 doubles, but fell 8-6 for the Chargers to secure the point. Scarabello did earn Roosevelt's point in the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles.
