NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Roosevelt sent a reduced squad to the Distance Fling portion of the First Chance Meet hosted by North Central last Friday in Naperville.

The Lakers were led by Cristin Moreno's 12^th-place finish in the women's 1500 meters, finishing in a time of 5:15.16, less than four seconds off a podium position. Olivia Breeden made her debut for Roosevelt in the same race and placed 16^th in a time of 5:23.64. Also in that race was Shelsee Issasi, who ran in 5:40.20 to finish 26^th.

In the men's 1500 meters, Jason Perez-Martin led the pair of Lakers in the race with a time of 4:31.73 to finish 33^rd. Jeremy Wilson ran the event in 5:01.65 to finish 61^st.

Gloria Romero represented Roosevelt in the 10,000 meters, finishing in a little under 40 minutes to place 10^th in the 15-runner field.
