JaDale Mitchell highlighted a limited field in the GVSU Tune-Up Meet with a record-breaking shot put throw for Roosevelt last week.
The Lakers sent a reduced roster to Grand Valley State for the meet, but Mitchell stood out with his eighth-place finish in the shot put and 12th-place in the weight throw. The junior from Elk Grove Village, Ill. smashed his old indoor record with his shot put toss of 13.04 meters.Â
Zabon Robinson placed ninth in the 400 meters in a time of 51.72 seconds, roughly a second faster than teammate
Ashton Gray, who finished 18th.
Joaquin Lopez took home 20th in the 60-meter dash before placing 12th in the 200 meters.
