ROOSEVELT WEEK AHEAD: November 21-29

CHICAGO – Here's a look at the weekend ahead in Roosevelt athletics, as well as a preview of the Thanksgiving week events.

Women's Basketball
The women's basketball program will be in Canton, Ohio, to take on Malone and Walsh on Friday and Saturday. The Roosevelt defense, led by Marie Outlay's 11 steals, has forced 23 turnovers per game and is allowing just 53 points a contest to start the season. Malone is sitting at 2-0 and is averaging 84.5 points per game, making for a clash of strengths in Friday's matchup. Walsh began the season against two GLIAC opponents, winning the opener against Davenport and falling to No. 1 Grand Valley State. Roosevelt's matchups with both teams will be the first in program history. After the weekend doubleheader, the Lakers will return home before heading back on the road, traveling to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to face Western Michigan in an exhibition matchup on Tuesday, November 25th.

Men's Basketball
The men's basketball team will head to Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio Dominican on Saturday at noon. Jalen Windham is averaging 25.5 points per game after the opening weekend, with Dante Sawyer behind him at 15.5. Ohio Dominican heads into the matchup with a record of 0-2, losing tight games to Drury and Southwest Baptist to begin the season. Roosevelt won last year's matchup with Ohio Dominican, 67-57. The Lakers will return home for Thanksgiving week before heading to Midland, Michigan, on Saturday, November 29th, to take on Northwood.

Men's Hockey
The hockey program is staying close to home again this year as it participates in the Chicagoland Classic for a second straight year. Roosevelt welcomes Rhode Island, Alabama, and Oregon to the Windy City for matchups on three consecutive days. Roosevelt faces Rhode Island on Friday and is looking to avenge last year's 2-1 defeat to the Rams. On Saturday, the Lakers will try to win a second straight game against Alabama after beating the Crimson Tide 7-3 a year ago. Sunday's matchup against Oregon will be the first time the two schools meet in any sport.

Men's Volleyball
The men's volleyball team will complete its fall action Saturday in Rogers Park for the Loyola Invitational. The Lakers will have one last chance to test themselves against some of the best teams in Chicagoland and the greater Midwest before they turn their attention to the championship segment of their season in January.
