BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Roosevelt ended its fall campaign with a pair of wins over Olivet Nazarene last Friday in Bourbonnais.

The women's team shut out the Tigers in emphatic fashion while the men won 5-2 with several blowout wins of their own. Both Lakers teams won the doubles point with the women capturing all three matches and the men winning at No. 2 and No. 3 by identical 6-0 results.

On the women's side, all six singles matches ended in straight sets with half of the 12 sets ending 6-0 in Roosevelt's favor. Lara Sener at the No. 4 position and Malena Moya at No. 6 both won all 12 games in their matches. Sophie Christie won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Ximena Mercado won 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot. Nathalie Ramazzini won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 while Zeynep Barut held serve for a 6-4, 6-3 win at the top singles position.

The Lakers dropped the first two singles positions on the men's side, but made up for it in the bottom of the lineup. Abhay Singh won at No. 3 by a score of 6-2, 6-2 and Lluc Mascaro Sierra claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Justus Peters dominated at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-3 victory and Demille Scarabello did the same with his 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6.

UP NEXT: The Lakers will return to the court in February for the start of their championship season.
