BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Jake Glickman's complete-game shutout Friday afternoon in Bourbonnais helped Roosevelt split a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader with Olivet Nazarene.

The junior right hander allowed just five hits over seven innings as the Lakers (11-10, 2-4 CCAC) claimed the opener 3-0. Olivet Nazarene responded in the second game by scoring five runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth to take a 12-2 decision.

There wasn't much offense in the first game as the Lakers managed just six hits in the contest, but Roosevelt did work five walks in the victory. Sebastian Casillas started the third inning with one of those free passes then moved up 90 feet on a sacrifice bunt and another 90 on a groundout to the right side. From there, Roosevelt didn't need to do much else as a wild pitch to Kekoa Ogawa allowed Casillas to score and give the Lakers a 1-0 lead.

The hits came mostly in the fourth inning as the Lakers had three hits in the frame to extend the lead out to the 3-0 final score. Luis Delgado singled to center field to start the inning and James Berry followed with a single into left field. Sammy Estrada moved everyone up a base with a groundout and Aiden Brushaber took advantage with a single up the middle that allowed Delgado to score. Casillas then put the ball in play to the Tigers infield and an error allowed Berry to score.

Glickman was never in any trouble during his seven innings on the mound, issuing just one walk and striking out two. Only one runner reached second base, and that came on a wild pitch right before Glickman induced a fly ball to end the inning. He stranded all six of the seven base runners that reached with the other one erased on an inning-ending double play.

Roosevelt's offense was ready for the second game and the Lakers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the Tigers in the first inning. Bryce Hayman worked a one-out walk then stole second base, putting him in prime position to score on Delgado's double into the gap in right centerfield. The Lakers were right back at it in the third inning with Jojo Mack scoring on an RBI groundout from Ogawa to increase the lead to 2-0.

Olivet Nazarene took the lead with four runs in the third inning then held the Lakers to just two hits the rest of the way.

The Lakers and Tigers will now play their other conference doubleheader on Monday at Ozinga Field due to weather concerns Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for noon Monday in Crestwood.
