CRESTWOOD, Ill. – The Roosevelt University baseball team started its weekend series with Indiana South Bend by taking two Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference games from the Titans at Ozinga Field on Saturday, April 24.
Andrew Rodriguez (SR/Oak Forest, Ill.) hit a game-tying RBI double and a key solo home run late to lift the Lakers past the Titans in game one by a final of 3-2. Joshua Stivers (JR/Long Grove, Iowa) hit a go-ahead RBI single in the fifth in support of Tom Jager (SR/Oak Forest, Ill.), who went the distance for the win.
The Lakers broke an early 1-1 deadlock with a seven-run third inning, and Roosevelt held on for a 10-6 victory to complete the Saturday sweep.
Stivers finished the day with five runs driven in.
