Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University softball team split a CCAC Conference doubleheader versus Trinity Christian College on Wednesday, April 21, blowing out the Trolls 12-1 in game one and losing to the hosts 5-1 in game two at Schaaf Athletics Complex.

The Lakers exploded for an 11-run second inning in the first game, sending 15 batters to the plate to put the game away early. Destini Nolan (FR/Midlothian, Ill.) drove in the first two runs with a double to center field and knocked in two more runs later in the inning on a base hit to center field. Anaisa Lozada (SO/Bensenville, Ill.) and Rebecca Bluder (JR/Downers Grove, Ill.) provided more power in the inning with each blasting a three-run homer to propel the Lakers. Kate Sisson (SO/Martinsville, Ind.), fresh of earning CCAC Pitcher of the Week honors, went all five innings in the circle, allowing just one-run on two hits.

In game two, Trinity Christian got all the offense it would need with three runs on three hits off Roosevelt starting pitcher Hailey Getz (JR/Evergreen Park, Ill.) in the third inning. The Lakers scored their only run in the fourth inning when Mia Signore (FR/Tinley Park, Ill.) singled and later scored on an error after a Emily Berni (JR/Menifee, Calif.) base hit. However, the Trolls added two insurance runs in the sixth inning for the 5-1 victory.
