Baseball Falls to Saint Ambrose 7-4 in CCAC Conference Game

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Roosevelt University baseball team lost to Saint Ambrose University in a CCAC Conference game by the score of 7-4 on Wednesday, April 14 at Modern Woodmen Park.

The Lakers gave up three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first inning, but got a run back in the top of the third when Tyler Suchy (JR/Oak Forest, Ill.) singled home Samuel Silveira (JR/Oakland, Calif.). The Fighting Bees came right back to score two runs in the bottom of the third to push their lead to 5-1, but the Lakers cut the deficit to 5-4 in the next inning with Matt Donahue (JR/Palos Heights, Ill.) driving in two runs on a double and then scoring on a double by Daniel Gutierrez (SO/New Lenox, Ill.). Unfortunately, the Lakers couldn't add any more runs, while St. Ambrose scored solo runs in the fourth and seventh innings for the 7-4 win.
