Baseball Rebounds In Nightcap To Split Twinbill At Calumet St. Joseph

WHITING, Ind. – The Roosevelt University baseball team split a pair of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference games with host Calumet St. Joseph at Oil City Stadium on Friday, April 9.

The Lakers were edged by the Crimson Wave in the opener by a final of 4-3 before Roosevelt's seven-run seventh inning broke a 3-3 deadlock and propelled the Green and White to a no-doubt 11-4 victory in the nightcap.

Andrew Olszewski (JR/Beecher, Ill.) homered in game one and went 4-for-5 in game two.

  • Unfazed, the Lakers broke the deadlock and the game wide open in the next half-inning when Zeese did bases-loaded damage of his own by clearing the bags on a go-ahead double
