BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Parker Coleman and Jordan Coakley hit RBI doubles, but host Olivet Nazarene put Tuesday's game against the Roosevelt baseball team out of reach with an eight-run fifth to hand the Lakers a 15-2 loss.
Kerry Zeese joined Coleman and Coakley with hits as the young Lakers (0-16) saw the Tigers (12-6) score four times in the second and three times in the third before the decisive fifth that was capped by Jacob Bulthuis' three-run homer.
Nine of the Tigers' runs were of the unearned variety as Roosevelt committed six errors.
Roosevelt mustered just one hit against ONU starter Mason Madalinski, who went six innings for the win.
The Lakers will seek to snap their skid with a home doubleheader against Calumet St. Joseph this Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at Ozinga Field in Crestwood.
