Box Score DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Roosevelt baseball team couldn't overcome a big early deficit against host St. Ambrose, as the Lakers fell behind on two four-run frames by the Bees in the first three innings to fall 11-4 on Sunday evening.
Tyler Ward had two hits and an RBI for the Lakers (9-26, 5-17 CCAC).
St. Ambrose (19-23, 15-7 CCAC) scored four times in the first inning, with three coming on a bases-loaded double.
Roosevelt scored in the top half of the second on Andrew Bohlmann's two-out RBI single to get the Lakers within three, but St. Ambrose tacked on four more thanks to three run-scoring hits.
The Lakers scored two runs in the fifth and a run in the seventh, but the Green and White couldn't mount a big comeback.
Roosevelt hosts Indiana South Bend at Standard Bank Stadium on Wednesday.
