HENDERSON, Tenn. - A rought start for the Roosevelt baseball team capped the Lakers' spring season-opening stay in Tennessee against Central Methodist (Mo.) on Sunday.
The Lakers gave up 15 runs in the bottom of the first and suffered a 23-6 defeat at the hands of the Eagles to close the four-game weekend.
Roosevelt is now 3-3 on the year.
Colten Trager helped the Lakers bring in four of their six runs, while Tyler Ward also contributed a run-scoring hit.
A perfect frame for Jalan Williams and a scoreless pitching debut for Parker Coleman were the only highlights on the mound on this day.
Roosevelt will be back in action on March 6 against Oklahoma City to start a Spring Break road trip.
