THOMASVILLE, Ga. – One day after scoring 25 runs, the Roosevelt baseball team could only muster a single score in a 13-1 loss to host Thomas in the finale of the Lakers' series against the Night Hawks on Monday afternoon.
Charley Zeschke had a hit and an RBI for the Lakers (2-4), who were held hitless for the first six innings by Kris Lee.
After Thomas (7-15) took a one-run lead in the second, it was a disastrous 12-run fourth inning by the Night Hawks that did the Lakers in. Nine hits and three Roosevelt errors aided the damage.
With that big inning for the hosts and Lee's mastery on the mound, the Lakers couldn't complete the series sweep.
Roosevelt takes its spring break tour of Georgia northeast when the Lakers face Brewton-Parker in a doubleheader on Tuesday.
