Baseball Falls At Cardinal Stritch, 9-2

PEWAUKEE, Wis. - Back-to-back three-run innings and a complete-game performance from Cardinal Stritch pitcher Ryan DeRosa spelled doom for the Roosevelt baseball team in a 9-2 road loss to the Wolves at WCTC Field on Friday.

Jordan Gosztola went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Ryan Pacyga and Brandon Richman also drove in runs for the Lakers (5-13, 4-10 CCAC).

Tony Smit went 4-for-5 and Chris Bass drove in three runs for the Wolves (8-16, 4-8 CCAC).

Stritch scored three runs in the third, with two coming on Bass' two-run double, and followed that up with three more in the next frame.

DeRosa kept the Lakers at bay, scattering seven hits and allowing three runs to go the distance.

Roosevelt has a chance at vengeance on Saturday, as the Lakers welcome the Wolves to Standard Bank Stadium for a doubleheader at noon.
