CHICAGO – Roosevelt fell in three sets to No. 1 Ferris State on Tuesday night in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at the Goodman Center.
The Lakers (3-5, 0-1 GLIAC) dropped the opening set 25-9 before rebounding with a strong showing in the second. There were nine ties and four lead changes as Roosevelt hung with the top-ranked Bulldogs before succumbing 25-21. Ferris State ran through the third set 25-9 after capturing the first 14 points of the set.
Alessia Isgro led the Lakers with seven kills while Braelyn Marshall added two of Roosevelt's three blocks in the match. Madison Howard had a team-best nine digs.
UP NEXT: The Lakers remain at home Saturday when it hosts Northern Michigan in another GLIAC battle at 2 p.m. inside the Goodman Center.
