GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Roosevelt football was picked seventh in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll, the league announced Friday at the conference's annual media day.
All eight schools competing in the GLIAC this season was represented during Friday's festivities. Lakers head coach Billy McKeon was joined in Michigan by second-year quarterback Tony Chahino and fourth-year linebacker Brandon Harvey. The trio spoke with emcee Adam Jaksa about the upcoming football season, which kicks off August 29 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview against Chicago State.
The Lakers' home opener is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 19 against UW Stout, and Roosevelt will welcome Michigan Tech to Morris Field on Oct. 3 to kick off conference play. In their third season in the league, Roosevelt will also host conference foes Davenport (Oct. 17), Grand Valley State (Oct.31) and Saginaw Valley State (Nov. 7) in Arlington Heights.
