BAY CITY, Mich. – Roosevelt University increased its presence on the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all-academic teams during the 2025-26 academic year to a record 134 student-athletes.

The GLIAC announced its academic honors Thursday morning and the Lakers had seven more honorees this year than last academic year. That includes a strong influx of 72 representatives on the Academic Excellence Team for holding a GPA of 3.50 or higher. It is a nearly 50 percent increase from last year with 20 additional students honored by the league with at least a 3.50 GPA.

Another 62 student-athletes were honored as Academic All-GLIAC for holding a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49 during their collegiate career. In total, 15 programs were recognized with at least one honoree on the list, including nine that placed five or more on their respective teams.

Football again led the way with 29 student-athletes honored, an increase of 11 from last season. Women's soccer had 20 student-athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA while baseball had 18, men's soccer included 15 and softball finished with 11.

On the field, 12 of the honorees earned all-conference accolades this season with one first-team selection, five second-team picks and six student-athletes who were named honorable mention all-conference players. Three runners were honored three times by being represented on on the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field lists. In addition, two men's volleyball student-athletes were recognized in an at-large category for the NCAA-sponsored sports not sponsored by the GLIAC.
