ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – Roosevelt fell 2-0 to No. 2 Grand Valley State on Sunday afternoon at Morris Field in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

The visiting Lakers scored once in each half, but the hosts defended well in front of Roxy Herrera. The senior made 12 saves in the match, keeping Roosevelt in the game with several athletic stops. The host Lakers also blocked numerous Grand Valley State opportunities before they even got to Herrera.

Grand Valley State largely dominated possession and used that to outshoot Roosevelt 25-2 with 14 of those attempts reaching the target and two others ringing off the post. For its part, Roosevelt put one shot on goal in the game. Carisma Rosales supplied that shot with a right-footed strike after cutting inside off the wing.
