ALLENDALE, Mich. – Roosevelt was swept Friday night by No. 21 Grand Valley State in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match in Allendale, Mich.
The visiting Lakers (1-15, 0-7 GLIAC) never led in the match, but made sure the hosts felt the pressure for much of the evening. Roosevelt fell behind 5-0 in the opening set, but cut the deficit down to 16-14 before falling 25-21. Grand Valley State won 25-15 in the second set then pulled away for a 25-19 win in the third.
Alessia Isgro led the Lakers with six kills and
Abigail Wutka had five kills.
Nekane Parera was part of three of Roosevelt's four blocks in the match, and
Isa Grana served up three aces to lead the way from the service line.
Cydney Martinez paced the Lakers with 11 digs.
