HOUGHTON, Mich. – Roosevelt rode a third-quarter tsunami to a convincing 74-57 win over Michigan Tech on Saturday in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road contest in Houghton, Michigan.
The Lakers didn't have much luck on offense in the first half, but there was no slowing down the Roosevelt attack in the final 20 minutes. The team shot 53.5 percent from the field in the second half, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range in the third quarter alone. As the shots fell from behind the arc, the Lakers (4-7, 2-3 GLIAC) were able to outscore the Huskies 27-6 in the third quarter then extend the lead out to as many as 27 in the fourth.
In the critical third quarter,
