Ashley Smoldt Scores 26 Points in Loss to Trinity Christian to Close Out Women's Basketball Regular Season

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's basketball team closed out the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) season winless after a 73-61 loss to Trinity Christian College on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Athletic & Convocation Center in Arlington Heights, Ill.

The Lakers trailed by double digits for much of the game, but went on a 13-2 run late in the third quarter to cut the deficit to just two points at 52-50 with 38 seconds to go and were down 54-50 heading into the final quarter. The Trolls scored the first 12 points of the fourth quarter to build a 66-50 advantage, holding the Lakers scoreless for just under seven minutes, and went on to maintain their large lead until the end to defeat the Lakers.
