Gallimore, Crippen Celebrate Senior Day In Style As Women's Basketball Wins 2017-18 Finale

CHICAGO – In the final collegiate game for Paige Gallimore and Chelsey Crippen, the Roosevelt women's basketball team led from the opening tip to send the Lakers' seniors out in style as RU cruised past Trinity Christian, 82-49, at the Goodman Center on Saturday.

Roosevelt snapped a nine-game skid to finish the 2017-81 season 15-15 overall and 8-12 in CCAC play.

Gallimore, the school's second all-time leading scorer with 1,802 points, tallied 14 in 23 minutes to cap her career with a win.

Crippen, a junior dual-sport standout who also excelled in volleyball for the Lakers, is on track to graduate early and played in her final basketball contest by scoring four points, assisting on four buckets and pulling down five boards.

Emily Duckhorn came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points after canning six three-pointers on the afternoon.

Ashley Smoldt scored 17 points, and Jasmine Albert posted her team-high seventh double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Roosevelt scored the game's first 10 points and never looked back in a convincing wire-to-wire win.

"This was a great way to end our season," Roosevelt head coach Keisha Newell said after the Senior Day victory. "Paige and Chelsey have been amazing and have truly left their mark as great Roosevelt women's basketball players.

"I am proud of our team for persevering through a long season."
