CRESTWOOD, Ill. – The Roosevelt baseball team could not overcome Robert Morris' early offense, as the visiting Eagles scored nine times in the game's first three innings in the Lakers' 17-7 loss in their regular season home finale at Standard Bank Stadium on Friday.
Ryan Pacyga homered and scored three times, while five different batters registered two hits each for Roosevelt (10-21, 9-17 CCAC).
Robert Morris (29-16, 17-8 CCAC) tagged starter Alex Van Ness for nine runs, with the major damage coming in a five-run third that was keyed by Pat Driscoll's three-run homer.
The Eagles would go yard three times against Laker pitchers.
Roosevelt tried to gets its offense to come to life late, scoring three times in the seventh, but the Lakers were unable to rally from the big early hole.
Prior to the contest, head coach Steve Marchi and the Lakers honored seniors Ryan O'Connor, Curt Vail and Nick Szynal as part of Senior Day festivities.
Roosevelt continues its weekend series against Robert Morris on Saturday in Bensenville. The doubleheader between the two Loop neighbors at John Geils Field begins at 1 p.m.
