Claire Gibler

Claire Gibler joined the Roosevelt Lakers women’s basketball program as an assistant coach for the 2022-23 season. Gibler arrived at Roosevelt after a stellar playing career at Benedictine University in Lisle, where head coach Deon Thomas was an assistant coach from 2017-2019.

In her four years at Benedictine, Gibler was a key contributor with 61 career starts as the Eagles posted an impressive 68-19 record during her career. She was the team’s third-leading scorer in 2019-20, helping Benedictine to a perfect 20-0 conference record and an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament for just the second time in school history. Last season, Gibler averaged 12.5 points, 2.3 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game, all career highs for her as she earned second-team all-conference honors.

Gibler hails from Berkley, Illinois where she scored more than 1,000 points during her varsity career at Immaculate Conception.

“I am thrilled to have Claire Gibler join the staff here at Roosevelt,” Thomas said. “She brings passion, energy, and a different perspective for the players. She was a part of a winning program at the collegiate level and I looking forward to bringing that experience to our team.”
