Kelly Magliano

Kelly Magliano leads the Roosevelt men's volleyball program into her fifth season in 2025-26.

Having been with the program since its arrival at Roosevelt, Magliano has re-tooled the Lakers into a competitive group in her first four seasons. The Lakers had second-team all-conference honorees in 2023 and 2024 and also earned three weekly awards in those two seasons. In the classroom, Magliano has mentored two NAIA Scholar-Athletes and six Academic All-District honorees. 

Magliano was appointed the interim head coach for the team for the 2021-22 season then took over the role on a full-time basis after that season. She previously served as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's volleyball programs during the 2020-21 season after serving as the graduate assistant for the Robbert Morris University Illinois volleyball programs in 2019-20. She earned her Master of Management degree from Robert Morris with a concentration in sports administration. 

Prior to her collegiate coaching career, Magliano was the assistant varsity coach at Chicago Christian High School in 2018, helping the team to an IHSA regional championship and sectional semi-final appearance that year.  In 2018-2019, she was a head coach for Uno VBC in Joliet, Ill. and from 2014-2016, Magliano was a co-head coach for the Wisconsin Ice VBC in Wausau, Wis.  

Magliano is originally from the south side of Chicago and graduated from Mount Assisi Academy in Lemont, Ill., where she was a three-year varsity team member and won an IHSA regional championship in 2013.  Individually, she earned GCAC All-Conference honors in 2012 and 2013, Joliet Herald All-Area selection in 2013, and team most valuable player in 2012 and 2013. 

After high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a human services emphasis with a minor in coaching and sociology. As a member of the Pointers women’s volleyball team, Magliano and her team advanced to the NCAA DIII Final Four in 2014 after winning both the WIAC Conference regular season tournament championships. 

The Pointers also made an NCAA DIII Regional semi-final appearance in 2015 and Magliano earned several individual awards in her collegiate career, including WIAC All-Conference First Team selection in 2017, WIAC All-Academic honors in 2016 and 2017, WIAC Offensive Player of the Week in 2017, Subway Player of the Week in 2017, and the Pointers Coach’s Award in 2016.
