Paddy Hoepp begins his fifth season in charge of Roosevelt men's soccer in 2026 as he has continued the Lakers' legacy of success on the pitch.

The 2024 season will go down as one of the best in program history as the Lakers shocked almost everyone by winning a share of the GLIAC regular-season championship in their first season as a Division II program. Roosevelt closed the season with four straight wins, ceding just one goal to move up the standings and earn the right to host the conference tournament. Roosevelt continued its remarkable defensive streak through the postseason before falling in penalty kicks in the GLIAC final. 

As an encore in 2025, the Lakers entered the final weekend of the regular season with a chance at repeating as champions, ultimately finishing in second place in the league.

Roosevelt has had tremendous success under Hoepp's direction, advancing to at least the conference semifinals in all four seasons. In 2022, Hoepp led the Lakers to an upset in the conference quarterfinals before falling in a narrow overtime match. Roosevelt did one better in 2023, winning a pair of home games in the conference tournament to advance to the championship game before falling in penalties.

In his four seasons in charge, Hoepp has already coached 17 all-conference players, including 2024 GLIAC Defender of the Year Nick Kilian and 2025 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year Fynn Mewes. He has also mentored 12 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees, a list headlined by Gabriel Koenig, who became the third Roosevelt athlete to be named an Academic All-American in 2024. Koenig also was awarded the prestigious GLIAC Commissioner's Award for his performance on the field and in the classroom. 

Hoepp served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Olivet Nazarene University during the 2021 season.  He helped lead the Tigers to both the CCAC Conference regular season and tournament championships and a berth to the NAIA National Tournament.  

His collegiate coaching career includes four years at Robert Morris University Illinois from 2016-2020, serving first as a graduate assistant and then moving into the associate head coach role for the Eagles.  Prior to his time at Robert Morris, Hoepp was an assistant coach at Providence Christian College, an NAIA institution in Pasadena, Calif.

During his collegiate playing career, Hoepp was a standout player at Olivet Nazarene, earning several individual accolades, including CCAC Freshman of the Year (2011), CCAC All-Conference First Team (2013 & 2014), and CCAC All-Conference Second Team (2011 & 2012).  He helped guide his team to NAIA National Tournament on three occasions, while winning the CCAC Conference Tournament championship in 2012, 2013, and 2014 and the CCAC Conference regular season championship in 2014.

Hoepp earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from Olivet Nazarene in 2015 and both his Master of Management in Sports Administration (2018) and Master of Business Administration (2020) from Robert Morris. He also currently holds his B-License from the USSF and he is a head coach for the Illinois Olympic Development Program.
