A Harvey native, Reggie Hamilton joins the Lakers and Head Coach Dee Brown as an Assistant Coach for the start of the 2022-23 season. Prior to joining the men’s basketball staff at Roosevelt, Hamilton spent one year as a graduate manager at his alma mater Oakland University.

Before starting his coaching career with the Golden Grizzlies, Hamilton enjoyed a prestigious playing career at the professional and collegiate levels. After starring at local Thornwood High School, Hamilton accepted a scholarship to the University of Missouri Kansas City before transferring to Oakland University to finish his collegiate career. As a student-athlete at Oakland, Hamilton became the first NCAA scoring champion in Oakland and Summit League history at 26.2 points per game. That year, he set a new single-season Summit League scoring record with 942 points and won the 2012 Francis Pomeroy Naismith Award, given to the top college basketball in the nation that is 6 foot tall or shorter.  

After graduating from Oakland, Hamilton enjoyed a productive professional career, playing for multiple teams abroad in his eight-year professional playing career.
