Brent Johnson

Brent Johnson arrived at Roosevelt in January 2025 as the Lakers' special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.

Johnson played under Roosevelt head coach Bill McKeon at Saint Xavier and was a first-team All-Mid States Football Association Midwest League player in 2018. Johnson then joined the Saint Xavier staff as a defensive backs coach under McKeon's tutelage until McKeon joined Roosevelt last year.

In five seasons as the defensive backs coach at his alma mater, Johnson mentored eight all-conference performers for the Cougars. He was named McKeon's successor as defensive coordinator for the 2024 season, and helped the Cougars produce eight all-conference players and two All-Americans. Johnson's defense finished with 14 interceptions in 11 games and allowed just 93.8 rushing yards per game, which ranked ninth in the country.
