ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – Roosevelt and St. Cloud State played to a 0-0 draw Wednesday in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Morris Field.
Both sides attempted seven shots, but few challenged either goalkeeper. The Lakers (4-0-3, 2-0-1 GLIAC) put four of their attempts on frame, yet their best opportunity was one that didn't count as a shot on goal. Angelo Piech nearly scored the winner with less than three minutes left, but his drive rang off the right post.
Cedrik Strupler made four saves in the match for his fourth shutout of the season. Roosevelt mostly kept the Huskies to the perimeter and didn't allow them too much space in dangerous areas. St. Cloud State's best chance was a desperation clearance in the final seconds that Strupler backpedaled to catch with relative ease.
