Nelson and Depeder Lead Lakers LoL Past Davenport

CHICAGO - In a rematch of last year's conference championship matchup, Eli "Radar" Nelson and Zachary "Potato" Depeder combined for a KDA of 33/17/52 to lead Roosevelt LoL past Davenport 2-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday night.

The Lakers got the job done in 28 minutes and 38 seconds in game 1, finishing with a team KDA of 35/26/51. Nelson led the way, finishing 16/4/9 with a kill participation of 71% as the ADC, while Depeder contributed 21 assists and a 66% kill participation from the support role.

Roosevelt was even more dominant in game 2, destroying the Panthers Nexus in just 23 minutes and 13 seconds and all 5 Davenport players finishing with a negative K/D. Nelson was excellent once again, finishing the second match with a 14/2/8 KDA and a 73% kill participation, while Depeder contributed 14 assists. Camden "ankh1" Peters went 5/1/15 with a kill participation of 66% as the jungler, and Nate "BetterthanNeve" Cheeran finished 9/2/2 in the mid lane.

"This was a really fun series - with it being a rematch of the finals last year and all. You can tell that we're getting better and better the more we play together," said Nelson after the match. "We're seeing a lot of trust being built around some of our newer players, especially Dex and Nate. Trust is one of those things that's really hard to teach, and you can tell they both naturally have that skill set. It's especially awesome to see how well Nate fits into the team dynamic. He continues to exceed my expectations, and it's been exciting to watch the growth and confidence he's developed throughout the season."

UP NEXT: The Lakers are off until next Wednesday, when they'll look to move to 4-0 in GLIAC play against Ferris State at 6 pm.
