CHICAGOÂ - Off the back of a 2-0 win over Grand Valley State last week, Roosevelt LoL continued its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title defense with a 2-0 win over Michigan Tech Wednesday night.
Game 1 saw the Lakers take control, as the team recorded a 34/26 K/D ratio. Camden "ankh1" Peters was a large part of Roosevelt's success, as the jungler finished with a 14/3/16 KDA for a whopping 88% kill participation in the first match. Zachary "Potato" Depeder was excellent in the support role, finishing 4/4/21 with a 73% kill participation, while ADC Jun "enryu" Huang went 6/2/12.
The Lakers were even more dominant in the second game, finishing with a K/D of 35/17 and every player recording a kill participation north of 48.5%. Depeder was again a standout, registering 26 assists and a 77% kill participation, while Peters and Huang went 9/3/14 and 12/4/13, respectively. Captain Leswin Ramirez went 8/2/12 in the mid lane for a staggering KDA ratio of 10, and no Huskie finished with a positive K/D in game 2, as Roosevelt finished Michigan Tech off in just over an hour of total gameplay.
"Very solid start to the season. As a team, we still have lot of cleaning up we need to do on our early-game performance," said graduate student Eli "Radar" Nelson after the match. "Jun and Zach are demonstrating strong leadership and initiative as players. I'm looking forward to continuing to be a part of their journey throughout the remainder of the season."
