HOUGHTON, Mich. – Roosevelt could not keep pace with Michigan Tech on Friday evening with a straight sets defeat against the Huskies in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play in Houghton, Mich.
The Lakers started the match strong by building a 6-2 lead then showed great poise in the second set to battle back for a 17-16 edge. However, the Huskies were able to string together long runs in between for a 25-10, 25-20, 25-10 triumph.

In the first set, the Huskies had a 9-1 run that broke open the set, but it didn't demoralize the Lakers in the slightest. Despite falling behind 10-4 in the second set, Roosevelt to tie the set at 14, 15 and 16 before an error put the Lakers in the lead at 17-16. The set was again tied at 17, 18 and 19 before Michigan Tech closed out the set.
