OSHKOSH, Wis. – Roosevelt could not overcome a second-half surge from Wisconsin Oshkosh as the 21^st-ranked Titans rallied for a 38-21 win on Saturday in the Lakers' non-conference finale in Wisconsin.

The Lakers (1-2) could not have asked for a better start to Saturday's game against Division III UW Oshkosh. Roosevelt's defense took the field first and immediately forced a three-and-out in less than a minute before a short punt set up the Lakers in good field position.

Zach Zella's first pass went for 20 yards to Jack Young Jr. to put Roosevelt deep in Titans territory, and Zella finished the drive with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Cam Davis. Zella finished the opening drive 4 for 4 for 42 passing yards.

Roosevelt forced another punt on UW Oshkosh's next drive then drove deep into Titans territory before the drive stalled out. UW Oshkosh missed a field goal to ensure the Lakers held a 7-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Titans quickly tied the game early in the second quarter then took the lead midway through the period.

Yet the Lakers were ready with a response after Davis returned the kickoff 36 yards plus the Titans tacked on five more with a penalty. In a little more than two minutes, Zella led the game-tying drive and finished it with a 4-yard score to Chico Thomas. The Lakers then forced a turnover on downs, and raced down the field in 40 seconds for Young to catch a 16-yard touchdown right before halftime.

The weather was the story in the second half as the game was halted three times by the conditions in Wisconsin. The first came right before the teams were set to resume, extending halftime. The second delay occurred right after Eoin O'Sullivan pinned the Titans at the 5-yard line with a gorgeous punt.

After the delay, the Titans marched down the field to tie the game, starting the second-half dominance. UW Oshkosh added a field goal in the third quarter to make it 24-21 after three, but the Titans then scored two touchdowns off Zella interceptions to pull away.

Zella finished the day 24 of 39 for 273 yards and his three touchdowns, while Davis ran 18 times for 56 yards and caught two passes. Young was the receiving leader with five catches for 88 yards with CJ Hood adding 73 yards on three receptions, Norion Espadron gaining 58 on five catches and Michael Prokos catching six passes for 43 yards.

Kamal Mukarram led the Roosevelt defense with 13 tackles while Carlos Conley made two of his seven stops behind the line of scrimmage.
