ROMEOVILLE, Ill. –
James Berry drove in all four Roosevelt runs, but it was not enough as the Lakers fell 8-4 to Lewis on Tuesday in Romeoville.

Sebastian Casillas and
Kekoa Ogawa both had two hits in five at-bats while

In seven of those innings, the Lakers had s runner reach at least second base, but Roosevelt stranded 11 runners on the base paths, including six who were left in scoring position.
Lewis took the early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first after Ogawa supplied a double for Roosevelt's only hit in the top of the frame. The top of the Lakers lineup helped halve the deficit in the third inning when Casillas singled then stole second base, putting him in position to score on Berry's single to right field. Berry stole second then moved to third on Ogawa's single before
Luke Ulbert drew a walk to load the bases with one out in the third.
Conrad Heppler had a strong first three innings on the mound for Roosevelt, keeping the Flyers at bay in the second and third innings without much trouble. The Lakers put runners on the corners for him in the top of the fourth, but failed to score. The Flyers then scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth, taking advantage of a walk and two hit batsmen while scoring on their first two outs of the frame.
The Flyers added their eighth run in the bottom of the seventh before Berry came up with another big hit for the Lakers.
Kyle Jannenga led off the eighth with a walk then
Aiden Brushaber knocked a single to advance the catcher up 90 feet.
Andrew Lucas sacrificed the runners to second and third before Berry uncorked a three-run homer to right centerfield to cut the deficit to 8-4.
