Lakers Edged On Road At Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. – Roosevelt fell 67-57 in a tight non-conference game at Quincy on Wednesday.

The Lakers (0-8) scored just four points in the first eight minutes of the game, but then used their defense to get back into the game. Roosevelt scored eight points off turnovers as part of a 13-2 run over the next three minutes to take a six-point lead. It went into the locker room up four points courtesy of 13 points off 13 takeaways from the Hawks.

It was a different story in the second half as the Lakers scored just eight points off turnovers, but managed to keep themselves in the game. Roosevelt stayed within two possessions of Quincy for almost the entire second half until the free-throw game allowed the Hawks to pull away. Twice in the final five minutes, Roosevelt fought to within a basket as well.

Jalen Windham led the team with 24 points while Davon Smith-Johnson added 14 points and eight rebounds to go along with three steals.  

UP NEXT: The Lakers will end the 2025 portion of their schedule Friday with a second matchup this year against No. 24 Upper Iowa at 3 p.m. in Fayette, Iowa.
