Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Roosevelt Falls At Indianapolis On Thanksgiving Eve

INDIANAPOLIS – Roosevelt could not muster a run in the second half in falling 65-48 to the University of Indianapolis on Wednesday afternoon on the road in Indiana.

The Lakers (2-4) were led by Forte Prater's 19 points and Enari Thomas chipped in 11 as well. Roosevelt held the lead into the first media timeout before the Greyhounds scored 12 straight points to turn the tables. Not to be deterred, the Lakers battled back to trim the deficit to 25-20 at halftime as both teams struggled to shoot offensively.

Thomas scored the first points of the second half to make it a one-possession game, but that was as close as the Lakers got over the final 20 minutes. Prater scored 12 of his points in the second half and Thomas pumped in seven as well to lead Roosevelt to 46 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes. However, the Greyhounds' advantage on the interior allowed them to slowly build out the lead.

The Lakers were outscored 32-22 in paint, including 13-4 in second-chance points off a 47-29 rebounding deficit. Kennedy Brown registered three blocks to go along with his team-high seven rebounds and Griffin Yaklich added six boards. Aedan Campos made 2 of 4 from behind the arc to match Brown with six points while Yaklich scored five. Prater and Thomas also combined for Roosevelt's only five assists in the contest.

UP NEXT: The Lakers have a week to prepare for their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup of the season with a home date against Lake Superior State on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Goodman Center.
