LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Roosevelt took part in a two-tournament weekend hosted by Purdue in Lafayette, Ind. with a traditional five-game team event on Saturday then a tournament of 25 Baker games on Sunday.
The Lakers finished in eighth place in both events, putting them square in the middle of the 15-team event on both days. In Saturday's team event, the Lakers averaged 188 for a total of 4,699 pins in their eighth place finish. Individually,
Troy Welker led Roosevelt with a 16
th-place finish with an average of 209. Freshman Ke'jon Miller was next in 37th place with a 195 average followed by graduate student
Kendrick Wilson in 40th with an average of 191. Rounding out the squad were freshmen
Joseph Diaz and
Jay Schofield, who finished 57
th and 67
th, respectively, with averages of 175 and 170.
In the Baker tournament on Sunday, the Lakers averaged 182 per game, which was still good enough for a middle of the pack finish.
