Box Score ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 non-conference defeat to Thomas More University (Ky.) at Morris Field on Saturday, September 10. The loss dropped the Lakers' overall record to 1-2 on the year.
The Lakers applied the pressure throughout the first half and had several shots just miss wide of the goal in the early minutes. Unfortunately, Roosevelt was unable to capitalize despite holding a 7-0 shot and 5-0 corner kick advantages in the opening 45 minutes.
In the second half, it was the Saints who found the back of the net when Matt Lodge played a through ball to Ben Oliver, pushing his shot past RU goalkeeper Mario Graciano for the 1-0 lead. The Lakers continued to press for the tying goal until the final whistle, but could not answer the Thomas More backline to lose 1-0.
