Box Score CROWN POINT, Ind. – The Roosevelt University men's soccer team dropped a CCAC Conference match to Governors State University, losing by the score of 3-0 on Wednesday, October 5 at the Crown Point Sportsplex. The Lakers are now 4-2 in conference play and 5-4 overall this year.
The game was a physical affair with 35 total fouls between the two teams, including seven cautions and an ejection to a Laker player. Governors State took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute and held that lead at the half-time break.
With the score still standing at 1-0 midway through the second half, the Lakers were forced to play a man down due to a red card ejection to Cillian Coonan in the 73rd minute and the Jaguars capitalized just over three minutes later, taking a 2-0 lead in the 77th minute. Governors State added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to seal the 3-0 conference win over RU.
