Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Roosevelt University women's volleyball team dropped a CCAC Conference match, losing to Cardinal Stritch University in straight sets on Thursday, October 7 at Panella Court. The loss dropped the Lakers overall record to 2-14 and their CCAC record to 0-8.
The Lakers led early on in the first set and held a 12-10 advantage before the Wolves got hot, opening up a 21-13 lead and winning 25-17 to take a 1-0 match lead.
In the second set, RU scored the first three points and opened a 6-2 lead early on. However, Cardinal Stritch came back to tie things up at 8-8 and then went on a 12-1 run to take control, winning 25-12 to take a 2-0 set lead in the match.
The Lakers battled in the third set and were tied with the hosts at 11-11 before the Wolves went on another run to build a 22-16 lead. Roosevelt scored the next four points to close to within 22-20, but Stritch answered with two points of their own to force match point at 24-20. However, the Lakers fought off four straight match points to tie things up at 24-24, but the Wolves scored the next two points to take the set and the match.
